Rent Guidance Board Order 57 Sets Forth Rent Increases for 2025-2026 Cycle

07/01/2025
On June 30, 2025, the New York City Rent Guidelines Board (“RGB”) passed Apartment and Loft Order No. 57, setting rent adjustment guidelines for rent-stabilized apartments for the upcoming leasing cycle (October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026).

Amid debates over a potential rent freeze, RGB opted to raise rent increases for one-year leases and lower rent increases for two-year leases. Under the new guidelines, rent-stabilized apartments will receive a higher rent increase of 3% for a one-year lease and a lower rent increase of 4.5% for a two-year lease for the upcoming cycle.
