Sonia K. Kothari Joins Warshaw Burstein as Partner in the Tax and Corporate and Securities Groups

New York – August 2026 – Warshaw Burstein, LLP is pleased to announce Sonia K. Kothari has joined the firm as a partner in the tax and corporate and securities groups.

Ms. Kothari has focused her practice on U.S. federal, state, local and non-U.S. tax considerations relating to a wide range of domestic and international business transactions including: mergers, acquisitions, and other business restructuring transactions, debt and equity financings, strategic investments for public and private companies, planning and structuring for sponsors and investors in domestic and cross-border private investment funds, and structuring inbound and outbound international investments.

Ms. Kothari also has significant experience with real estate transactions and executive compensation matters.

She previously served as tax counsel at highly regarded international law firms and worked as an attorney in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, Passthroughs and Special Industries Division.

Ms. Kothari earned her B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law.
