Gregory R. Sarafan Joins Warshaw Burstein as Counsel in the Litigation and Real Estate Groups
08/23/2026New York – August 2026 Warshaw Burstein, LLP is pleased to announce Gregory R. Sarafan has joined the firm as counsel in the litigation and real estate groups.
Mr. Sarafan has more than a decade of experience litigating real estate matters throughout New York's courts and has focused his practice on landlord-tenant litigation for the past several years.
Mr. Sarafan's broad range of experience in real estate litigation includes managing non-payment and holdover proceedings, handling housing preservation (HP) proceedings, and representing clients in small claims matters before the Civil Court of the City of New York.
Prior to focusing his practice on real estate litigation, Mr. Sarafan served as general counsel to several live event production companies. In that role he advised on a wide range of business and legal matters including liaising with government agencies, managing general liability issues, and overseeing legal aspects of public and media relations.
Before practicing law, Mr. Sarafan owned and operated a music and art public relations and marketing company, and a virtual music magazine business. He spearheaded marketing and large project/personnel/social media management for live events.
Since 2011, Mr. Sarafan has held a variety of legal and senior leadership roles with HeadCount.org, helping to build the organization into the nation's largest voter registration nonprofit and supporting the nonpartisan registration of more than 1.75 million voters. Mr. Sarafan has dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours to advancing civic engagement and voter participation.

Mr. Sarafan attended Binghamton University, State University of New York, graduating in 2011, and earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2014.
