Mr. Sarafan has over a decade of experience litigating real estate matters throughout New York's courts and has focused his practice on landlord-tenant litigation for the past several years.
Mr. Sarafan's broad range of real estate litigation includes:
- managing non-payment and holdover proceedings
- handling housing preservation (HP) proceedings
- representing clients in small claims matters before the Civil Court of the City of New York
Prior to focusing his practice on real estate litigation, Mr. Sarafan served as general counsel to several live event production companies. In that role he:
- advised on a wide range of business and legal matters
- liaised with government agencies
- managed general liability issues
- oversaw legal aspects of public and media relations
Prior to practicing law, Mr. Sarafan owned and operated his own music and art PR and marketing company and a virtual music magazine business. He spearheaded marketing and large project/personnel/social media management for live events. These experiences outside the legal profession provide Mr. Sarafan with skills he uses when he works with and advises clients.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT/PRO BONO
Since 2011, Mr. Sarafan has held a variety of legal and senior leadership roles with HeadCount.org, helping to build the organization into the nation's largest voter registration nonprofit and supporting the nonpartisan registration of more than 1.75 million voters.
Mr. Sarafan has dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours to advancing civic engagement and voter participation.
