Rent Guidelines Board Sets Rent Increases For Upcoming Leasing Cycle; DHCR Registrations for Rent-Regulated Apartments Due July 31, 2025
07/07/2025Owners of rent-regulated apartments must file annual registrations with the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (“DHCR”) by July 31, 2025. Annual registrations are a snapshot of an apartment’s tenancy on April 1st of the current year. The information that must be provided to DHCR includes:
- Apartment designation
- Whether the apartment was occupied
- Tenant’s name
- Lease term
- Legal rent
- Preferential rent (if applicable)
