Westchester County Senior Law Day Collaborative Features Kadeen Wong As Presenter

11/02/2022
Kadeen Wong, Associate in the Trusts and Estates and Elder Law groups, was a featured speaker at the recent Yonkers Senior Law Day Collaborative event at the Yonkers Public Library on October 19.

Ms. Wong presented “Your Will – Making Sense of the Terms and Process” to close to 100 members of the Westchester community.

The presentation defined common terms used in estate planning, details on what is included in an estate plan, the types of proceedings in the Surrogate’s Court and what you can do now to prepare for your estate to be smoothly administered upon death.

Warshaw Burstein is a sponsor of the Senior Law Day Collaborative, and Sarah Steckler, Partner in the Trusts and Estate Group and founder of the Elder Law Group, is a Co-Chair of the Senior Law Day Collaborative.

The Senior Law Day Collaborative offers Westchester seniors and their families free educational seminars and one-to-one 15-minute consultations with over 150 experts who can provide authoritative advice on important, and sometimes not-so-easy to discuss topics, such as: housing options; wills vs. trusts; ways to pay for long-term care; how to put your estate in order and other aging issues and elder law related topics.

The Collaborative’s attorneys, financial planners, geriatric care managers, and other specialists deliver free community programs and one-on-one-consultations throughout the year.

Highlights include:

  • Webinars throughout the year on topics ranging from Elder Law 101 to Medicaid and Having Difficult Conversations.
  • In person events featuring talks and consultations with professionals at local community centers, parks and libraries.
  • Resources on www.seniorlawday.info, include an Elder Law Q&A, Planning Checklist, Safety Toolkit, and the opportunity to ask any questions via our “ASK US” feature, for an email-to- telephone response.
